Happy 4th of July and a Rocket’s Red Glare to You!
It’s the 250th birthday of the signing of the Declaration of Independence and to that end we include a copy of the Chicago Griffins RFC constitution which declared the club’s independence in the rugby world.
That was only 53 years ago, but sometimes it feels like 250. Since then, a lot has happened to and for the Griffins and a great way to celebrate our storied history is to SIGN UP FOR THE 2026 BUD SKUBA MEMORIAL TOURNAMENT AND GOLF CART 500!!!
The date is Sunday Aug. 16 at the Arboretum Golf Club in Buffalo Grove. A meet-and-greet rendezvous will start at 12:30 p.m. with a 2 p.m. shotgun start at 2 p.m.
Get your foursome together for an afternoon of golf, laughs, and rugby camaraderie. Your day includes 18 holes with cart, on-course contests, and a 19th hole awards ceremony. Fee for the day is $125, payable by clicking the button below.
Be a sponsor! Sponsor a hole to get a vibrant sign at the tee area and loads of gratitude for helping the Griffins continue to be competitive in the highly competitive D1 Midwest Premiership League. You’ll get a highly visible sign advertising your company or yourself that will be seen by all the media influencers on the Griffin golf tour. Hole sponsorships are $300 and include all of the aforementioned perks.

It’s a great opportunity to meet up with old and new teammates and to remember those who have passed on. This year’s outing will be preceded on Aug. 15 by a Celebration of Life for Old Boy Russell Sage, who died in April and is being remembered as a true blue Griffin. His son, Logan, will join us for the golf outing and what will be a memorable weekend for all.
