 an opposing prop said, "Sir, please 
don't do that again." I assumed what 
he did was a mistake and he didn't know 
what hewas doing. That was the 1st
 time anyone had called me Sir. :-)

position(s): ........................Prop, Loose Head,
 & Tight (serious rugby) every where in 
the pack (not so serious rugby)
 played winger once (boring) 
Coach of the Chicago Griffins: on and off 
between 1973 and 1979 switching with Bob 
O'Connor. I coached 4 years as I remember.

height/weight: ..5 ft 11 Inches 203 in my prime
first year with the griffins: ...............Year One,
 as Coach, and after few beers B Team
Prop (since I was recovering from an 
lamenectomy on the 5th lumbar, 
and was afraid to play without a few beers
 in me) 1979 Retired from A Team due 
to Neck problems and practicec.1993
 Retired C Team Player c.2001 
Retired from Old Boys

Griffin Achievements: ..............Midwest Collegiate 
Side for Rugby Magazine 1969 (oddly
enough when I was in Law School, but 
back then Grad Students played for College sides), 
Midwest 1972 vs. Northampton & 
Carfu vs. Missouri 1978,
played in the Mid-America Cup 
Final 4 Times, once with University of
Illinois in 1968 and 3 Times with
 the Chicago Lions 1970-1972 and on 
the winning side twice with Chicago Lions.

 to score 3, 4, and 5 point tries

Thank you!) I was a Selector for
 the Midwest Select Side that beat the 
London Welsh in 1976 that included 
J.P.R. Williams and other great 
Welsh players of the 70s.
